I'm Candy Anderson. Farmer, mother, and the founder of Arlington's Natural Meats. I love animals and I always have. I was born and raised in Somerset County and grew up on my family's farm with Angus cows everywhere! I learned how to drive by driving the truck in the hay field. I fell in love with a farmer. His family has owned and operated Arlington since 1911. Four generations have lived and worked on this land, producing corn, soybeans, wheat, milk, poultry, and livestock. We have worked together operating the farm since 1989 and started renovating the main house (circa 1750) in 1998. I started Arlington's Natural Meats in 2003, because, I was looking for a way to increase the profitability of the farming operation and allow me to stay on the farm and raise our children. I was reading a lot about organics and direct marketing and am still on that journey. In addition to raising hogs and cattle, my husband and I have been busy raising five farmers. We think it's important that our children have had the experience of growing the food they eat. Our older ones are active in our local 4H, and have won several awards between them. Maybe one of them will grow up to become the fifth generation in our family to farm this land.
